Welcome to Bellingham Neighborhood News - Fall 2010
Bellingham, Wash., is a thriving community of artists, college students, anglers, baristas, activists and outdoor enthusiasts - people of all ages and abilities who share a love and appreciation for the stunning beauty of the Northwest.
Bellingham Neighborhood News - Fall 2010 is a collection of hyper-local news sites, each of which focuses on the unique challenges and concerns of one of Bellingham's 24 neighborhoods.
The news sites listed on the right were researched, written, edited and published by Western Washington University journalism students, as part of a reporting class taught by Senior Instructor Stephen Howie during the Fall Quarter 2010.
Each student was assigned a neighborhood to cover for the 10-week quarter. They were asked to use investigative reporting techniques to uncover breaking news, ongoing issues and general concerns of the people who work, live and play in their assigned beats.
